Notes

Note 		Thanks to research by Allen Blethyn of Aberavon, it appears that Elizabeth John almost certainly had a sister Mary, a pioneer amongst the early Calvinistc Methodists of Glamorgan, who married David John of Michaelston. ‎(Alternatively, David may have been Elizabeth's brother ??)‎. David and Mary appear to have produced no children, and in her Will, Mary, by then widowed, left her estate to her nephews and nieces, and a handsome donation to the Duffryn and Carmel Chapels. Those nephews and nieces included not only Rees and Elizabeth Powell's sons, William, Rees and Jehoshaphat, and daughter Elizabeth, but also Catherine Jones, widow of Griffith Llewellyn of Baglan Hall, thereby establishing a clear link between "our" John/Jones family and Catherine Jones' parents, Thomas Jones and Catherine John who held Baglan Hall and passed it to their daughter, through whom the Llewellyn Family came to be the proprietors of this estate.

It seems likely that Elizabeth was still living in Baglan in 1802, when her grandson Francis COLE was baptised in the parish, so her daughter Mary probably had the baby at her mother's home?

Note 		Elizabeth born ca.1730 ‎(aged 91 at death in 1821)‎. No sign of a baptism - either as JOHN or JONES - to tie in with this in Margam, Aberavon or Baglan. Possible in Llantwit-Neath: Elizabeth JOHN 20 Feb 1729 Father: Thomas
