There
are few Morris connections to our ancestral lines. One which is still
the subject of research and which I feel could be an important
early connection to our Rhondda Davies ancestral line, is the family of
Thomas Morris who married Wenllian Morgan
in Ystradyfodwg in 1748. Wenllian was first cousin to our great great
great grandfather William Davies alias Hopkin, daughter of William's
uncle, Morgan Hopkin. Wenllian and Thomas farmed Bodringallt, the
farm which our great great grandfather Richard Davies ran as a
tenant farmer, and where our great grandfather Jenkin Davies was born.
The freehold was passed from Thomas and Wenllian Morris
to their son David Morris. The little I know so far about
this family and it's connection to our ancestors, is as a result of
Wills and other documents passed to me by fellow researcher Roger Hopkins, which, in turn came from research performed by Roger's friend Derek Clayton, who died in 1992.
Another
Rhondda Morris family, possibly connected, intermarried several
generations with another branch of the extended family when William Morris married Mary Bevan, daughter of Thomas Bevan and Jennet Thomas of Llwynypia Farm.
